I am so sorry for your family and friends, bud. I am heartbroken. Chris was a solid guy. Even though we drifted apart in terms of time spent ig, I would love to see his stuff come across my FB feed. He just radiated life.

After I processed the news and looked back on our time together, I am so thankful to discover the positive residue that filthy jacket left all over my life.

I am truly saddened, but I am entirely grateful. Words just aren't enough.

    Talus Forever.

I will echo Tutt's words. I was so thankful that Chris, no strike that, Relan was in my life. Seeing some of you again (some for the first time) on this past Saturday was a joy. I am sure he is somewhere smiling at the fact we had a virtual remembrance for him.

I have joined up here again and will work to not become a stranger again. Too many of you were big factors in the time we spent in Galaxies.

So sad to hear about this! It's been many years since I've been in these parts, but dropped by today to see if there was any activity. This was the last thing I expected to see. TCO was my first, and really only home, throughout my MMO life, and looking back, Relan played a huge role even in encouraging the career choice that has ultimately taken me to where I am now. He will greatly be missed.

And along with Khazid, I'm certainly going to make an effort to rekindle some of the wonderful friendships we had here.

Wow, so sad to see this. I look back on my long time with TCO with such great memories. I don't even know what lead me to check the forums today. From SWG beta, WoW, and SW TOR, from member to Councilor to retirement, Relan was there through it all. I remember endless conversations in leadership channels trying to make TCO the best it could be. My best to the family and friends who knew him best. TCO Forever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVxZJCpH-ME For those of you who want a trip down memory lane.

This is a sad shock. I thought I'd checked this board just last week, but apparently it's been at least a couple months. It's devastating to learn that Relan has passed.

To say he was anything less than legendary would be to criminally understate what he gave to the projects he loved. To TCO, he was a fixture and a foundation. He was and is the soul of TCO. He brought this group through so much-- not just games or drama, but life. It's hard to imagine him not being here with us anymore.

I didn't know him well beyond TCO or gaming, but I know how much he loved TCO. Thank you Rodo et al. for organizing a memorial for him, even if I didn't get to attend. I love you all and look forward to whatever comes next.

Was thinking about the old TCO days, so I thought I would check in, but I was shocked and devastated to learn this news. My deepest condolences to Relan's family. Rest easy my friend.

I've not had the chance to speak to any of the gang since learning of Relan's death. Profoundly sad, angry that it was from something that should have never happened.... Regretful that I never expressed how much of a positive impact that TCO had on my initial on-line life... I am sure he knew because of how passionate we all were back in the beginning.... How much TCO meant to us and all the time and energy we put into it. To honor him, we should endeavor to keep TCO alive.

Its a new age and a forums based on-line community is something of an archaic format, but it worked and works really well. Things like Facebook and Discord and most other social media is very much an in-the-moment conversation in a crowded bar. The quality of discourse is not quite the same as it was back in the day. ... to be frank its either bias confirmational or its auto-reactive antagonistic. Even saying just this short paragraph is enough to trigger people now days.

My point is this: IN this new age, maybe sometimes it is better to go back to the beginning and in a forums based community encourage the long conversation format which is what TCO was. Not just over Star Wars but over life and common interests.....

To Honor Relan, we get the band back together and we keep on, keeping on.

                    Respectfully,

                    Dirk Gently

I like the idea, Dirk. I know we've all gotten older, and many have jobs, kids, elderly family members, new hobbies, and other things that take up much of our time that might otherwise be used for gaming. Some may have lost their interest in games altogether. But I would love to get the gang back into an MMO. I'd say about a dozen of us played LotRO again for a while after Relan's memorial service, even did some fellowship questing together, but within about a year almost everyone had dropped off again. I'm not sure whether it would be better to head back to an old game or dive into something new, but I'd be up for anything that resulted in a sustained TCO presence again.

Tyvan here... old SWG, EQ member.

Coming into this space and seeing the news about Relan was a shock. Condolences to his family. Far too young... So many good memories with all of you. Seems almost like a dream now. I am growing older but still crave what TCO did for all of us back in the day. I'll swing in from time to time and if by chance people are grouping up and gaming, I would love the opportunity to play and share time together.

Peace be with you Relan, you are missed.

Good to see you Zizagg, thanks for leaving the note for Relan and his family.

Things aren't very active around here, but we do also have a Discord server that is also not very active. Middle-aged gamers! You should still be able to join thru the link in the forums but if not just send me a message and I'll get you connected.

After Relan passed, I tried and failed to get forum access.

Now that I finally have it, I wanted to say how sorry I was to hear of his passing. I realize that this is years too late, but the news still weighs heavily on me. The Crescent Order meant a great deal to me as a young gamer... it was a community of like-minded Star Wars nerds when such things were hard to find. Relan was always front and center building that community, and providing a haven of fun & acceptance for those who needed that. I had always assumed he'd be out there, somewhere with his jacket getting up to mischief. To hear that he was no longer with us was a real punch in the gut.

Starzia, I am so very sorry for your loss.
